Seasoned Ethiopian referee Bamlak Tessema Weyesa has been appointed to take charge of Ghana’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier game against South Africa next month.
The Black Stars will play the Bafana Bafana on 25 March 2021 at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg before their last qualifier game against Sao Tome and Principe.
The 40-year-old who started to referee in 2003 and became international FIFA in 2009 with Djibuti vs Somalia in 2010 as his first international match will be centerman of the match and will be assisted by compatriots Kindie Mussie and Temesgen Samuel Atango respectively.
Another Ethiopian referee Biruk Yemanabran Kassaun will be the fourth referee with Mohau John Sentso from Lesothoas the Match commissioner.
The other officials are Namibia’s Titus Haimbii Kunamuene as General Coordinator with Dr. Hergi Diebo from South Africa as the COVID-19 officer.
Ghana top Group C of the qualifications after four rounds with 9 points levelled with South Africa.
Sudan are 3rd on the standings with 6 points whereas Sao Tomé and Principe languish bottom with no single victory.
